Why Wings of Hermes?

In the late 80's/early 90's I ran a Bulletin Board System (BBS) called "The Wings of Hermes". Back then, the name was a play on the idea that Hermes was the Greek messenger god (known as Mercury in Roman mythology). The BBS I ran was devoted to programming and messaging, so the name seemed apt.

The name has stuck over the years, and when I was thinking about setting up a site devoted to open source computer security, it still seemed appropriate, although the link is possibly a bit more tenuous.
